Bachelor of Engineering (Mining Engineering)

University

The professional qualification for a Mining Engineer is the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (BEng), which requires four years of successful full time study. The Institution of Engineers, Australia (IEAust) and the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) accredit this degree.

The Mining Engineering degree at Curtin's Western Australian School of Mines is the only program offered in WA that is part of the Minerals Council of Australia's initiative Mining Education Australia. In other words, the program is recognised by the peak mining industry body as being world class (the only other programs in Australia being those at the University of Queensland and the University of New South Wales).
