Certificate III
This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to work effectively with individuals and groups, in residential and community settings, to identify their needs and plan and develop appropriate services to meet those needs. You will learn about the community services sector including mental health, alcohol and other drug services and domestic violence services. You will learn skills in effective communication, gathering, maintaining and providing information, advocacy and community development processes, ethical behaviour and legal responsibilities of community workers. As part of this qualification you will undertake a supervised or simulated work placement where you will be able to apply the skills and knowledge you have learned. Students wishing to enrol in Certificate IV in Mental Health Work (Non-clinical) or Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs Work will be required to enrol in additional relevant specialist units at the certificate III level.
