This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to manage the operations involved in the extraction and processing of materials. You will learn to perform specialised techniques and procedures used in the industry, and implement and observe statutory/legal compliance requirements, risk control processes, quality and continuous improvement processes, and emergency procedures. You will learn skills in the implementation and maintenance of a pit system, plan and monitor water management, and recycle materials operation. In addition to completing these subjects you will need to undertake several years of work based experience to meet all of the requirements of the qualification. The work experience will involve living and working on a mining lease.
