Skills covered by this qualification will be applied to mining and processing operations and include: work safety and communication, workplace risk control, quality work outcomes, plan and organise individual work, light vehicle operation, loading and hauling minerals, ancillary mine support, drilling, blasting and ground control, stockpiling, preparation and processing of minerals, identification of environment/heritage concerns and rehabilitation of minesites. Completion of some units of competency may require employment in the industry or relevant site based work experience
