Certificate I
This course will provide the learner with practical skills and knowledge used in either Fabrication (Heavy and Light) or Mechanical (Fitter, Metal Machinist/ Fitter and Metal Machinist or Plant Mechanic or Refrigeration Air Conditioning) or Marine Craft Construction or the Electrical/Electronic sectors of the industry. Learners will be able to practice the skills ad knowledge learnt through a structured work placement program and project based delivery outlined in the course structure. Successful completion of the course will give the learner an opportunity to gain an apprenticeship in the relevant trade within the industry sector. AQF levels 1, 2 and 3 units of competence have been used to develop the course so that maximum articulation can occur into a Certificate III Qualification in the stated trade sectors of the Metals and Engineering industry.
