Media Release
The employment of women across the Western Australian resources sector will be under the spotlight with today’s launch of the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia (CME)’s inaugural Women in Resources Awards.
According to CME Chief Executive, Reg Howard-Smith, the Women in Resources Awards demonstrate the resources sector’s commitment to implementing workforce diversity initiatives.
“Currently, women account for only 18% of the resource sector workforce, compared to a national labour force figure of 45%.
“These awards aim to recognise individuals and organisations working to enhance the participation of women in the sector,” Mr Howard-Smith said.
