LITERACY AND NUMERACY LEVELS IN THE WORKPLACE

The Australian Industry Group National Workforce Literacy Project released a Report based on roundtable interviews and an employer survey which considered the impact of low literacy and numeracy levels in the workplace. A key finding is that more than 75% of employers responding to our survey reported that their businesses were affected by low levels of literacy and numeracy. The survey also revealed that 45% of employers nominated labourers and process workers as the occupational group most affected by low levels of literacy and numeracy.
